Each year one of the most incredible phenomena in the animal world takes place. The Great Migration is a great and intense event that attracts travellers from around the world. Over two million wild animals migrate following a fairly predictable pattern, most of them being wildebeest, although we will also see zebras, gacelles, antelopes, topis and many other animals in the immense plains of Masai Mara and Serengeti. A unique and authentic experience in an unparalleled ecosystem with the highest concentration of wild animals in the world.
This phenomenon emerges from the rains cycle very well, known by the wild life ,wich tiggers large migration of wildlife between Masai Mara and Serengeti involving a number of river crossing.. The most important and famous river crossing takes place in the Mara river, close to Kandili Camp, where the crocodiles await the wildebeest.
The great migration begins at the end of June and its peak occurs in July, August and September. From there, it continues in less quantity during October. River crossing take place almost every day.
Our safaris and guides will take you to one of the rive-crossing points of the Mara River to witness this event. In addition, Kandili Camp is fortunate to be in a privileged location. The herds of wildebeest cross our open camp, creating a unique and memorable feeling and experience.

The camp is the only one in Masai Mara, located in our wonderful private conservancy area with more than 200 hectares, the so-called Leopard Gorge.
Our guests walk and discover the indescribable beauty and life of the Leopard Gorge, accompanied by an experienced Masai guide. The walking safaris begin with an explanation of our bone collection. You will explore this wonderful area worldwide known thanks to BBC nature documentaries. You will also enjoy the wild life and the breath-taking views over the National
Reserve, with Olololo scarpment in the background.

Our Safaris in the Masai Mara National Reserve and in our conservancy area offer unforgettable moments to enjoy the immense beauty and diversity of the area, with an exceptional wild life. At night in our conservancy, experiences become adventures for those who wish to live first-hand the excitement of a night safari serching for the big cats and hyenas living around our camp.
In Kandili Camp you will also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the Masai tribe, proud shepherds and warriors, most of whom still preserve their traditional way of life. We organize cultural talks and visits to the nearest manyatta (village) where most of our staff come from. The Masai people kindly open their huts and their intimacy to the travellers, and the women welcome the visitors with lively dances and colourful
traditional costumes, before improvising a small crafts and souvenirs market. Kandili Camp returns all income from these activities to the neighbouring community.

With the first colours of dawn, we take you to the Double Gorge to enjoy the spectacular moment of sunrise and the sounds of the dawn with coffee, tea, sweets and juice in this wonderful place.
